Oahu Luau Comparison 2026: 14 Luaus by Price, Place and Who They Suit
Last updated: October 2026
Reviewed by Maui Luau Company Editorial Team. Hawaii travel and luau industry reviewers.
The lū'au that anchored Ko Olina for 47 years closed on December 31, 2025. Paradise Cove is gone, a new show opened at Ko Olina in February, and 14 Oahu luaus now compete for one evening of your trip.
They are not the same evening. One is two and a half hours in a Waikiki courtyard. Another is an eight-and-a-half-hour day on the North Shore. This comparison sorts all 14 by where you are staying, what you want to spend and who is coming with you.
Oahu has 14 luaus to compare in 2026, across Waikiki, Honolulu, West Oahu and the North Shore. Published adult prices run from $119 for a show-only seat to $265 at 'Aha'aina, and most dinner packages cost $130 to $200. The lowest-priced Waikiki luau with dinner is Queen's Waikiki Luau at $139.
Prices are published adult rates before tax unless noted. Maui Luau Company is operated by the team behind Huaka'i Lu'au on Maui. Links to Hawaiian Activities go to our sister site, and we may earn a commission on bookings made there.
How do Oahu's luaus compare on price, location and format?
Start with where you are sleeping, then look at price. Five of the 14 are in Waikiki, two more are in Honolulu, five are in West Oahu around Kapolei and Ko Olina, and two are on the North Shore. The table lists each one with its lowest published adult price.

Staying in Waikiki?
Queen's Waikiki Luau is a walk from most hotels and costs $139 with dinner and three drinks.
Check Queen's Waikiki Luau datesIs Paradise Cove Luau still open?
No. Paradise Cove Luau in Ko Olina held its final show on December 31, 2025, after 47 years. The landowner, the James Campbell Company, is redeveloping the site.
If Paradise Cove was on your list, two luaus are still inside the Ko Olina resort area: Kaula Lū'au at Ocean's Edge, which opened on February 27, 2026, and Ka Wa'a at Aulani. Three more are a short drive away in Kapolei.
Which Oahu luau is best for families?
The best Oahu luau for families depends on your children's ages and bedtime. Family totals for two adults and two keiki (children) start at $436 at Mauka Warriors Luau and Ka Moana Luau. Toa Luau has the only midday seating, and Queen's Waikiki Luau ends earliest for families staying in Waikiki.
Three questions settle it for most 'ohana. How late can the kids stay up? How long can they sit still? How far do you want to drive back in the dark?
- Early bedtime: Toa Luau's 12:30pm seating is pau (finished) by 3:30pm. Every ticket includes Waimea Valley and its waterfall.
- Kids who need to move: Chief's Luau is built around comedy and audience participation. Ages 0 to 4 are free and ages 5 to 12 start at $102.
- No car, staying in Waikiki: Queen's Waikiki Luau is done by 7:30pm. Children 3 to 12 are $119.
- Older kids, full day: the Ali'i Lū'au Package at the Polynesian Cultural Center runs from 12:15pm to 8:45pm, with six island villages before dinner. Children 4 to 11 are $157.96. It is a long day for toddlers.
- Already at Aulani: Ka Wa'a is on the resort grounds, and Disney points to pre-show activities such as kapa printing and taro pounding.
| Luau and tier | Two adults and two children | Child rate used |
|---|---|---|
| Mauka Warriors Luau, Koa | $436 | $79, ages 5 to 12 |
| Ka Moana Luau, Classic | $436 | $89, ages 4 to 12 |
| Chief's Luau, Aloha Experience | $492 | $102, ages 5 to 12 |
| Queen's Waikiki Luau, front section | $516 | $119, ages 3 to 12 |
| Ali'i Lū'au, Polynesian Cultural Center | $711.82 | $157.96, ages 4 to 11 |

Which luau is closest to Waikiki?
Five luaus are inside Waikiki itself: Queen's Waikiki Luau, Pā'ina Waikiki Luau, Waikiki Starlight Luau, Nā Lei Aloha and 'Aha'aina. Ka Moana Luau at Aloha Tower is a short drive away in downtown Honolulu. Staying in Waikiki avoids the shuttle fee of about $35 per person that West Oahu luaus charge.
Walking to your luau changes the night. Nobody is the designated driver, nobody watches the clock for a shuttle, and you are back at your hotel soon after the fire knife finale.
Queen's Waikiki Luau front section seating is $139 per adult, the lowest price in Waikiki for a luau with dinner. It is held in the courtyard of the International Market Place at 2330 Kalakaua Avenue. Check-in opens at 4:30pm, dinner is at 6:00pm and the 45-minute show starts at 6:45pm. Your ticket covers a shell lei, a hula lesson, three mai tais or soft drinks, and a dinner that includes teri chicken and kālua pig.
A Waikiki luau also leaves the day free. Three ways to spend it:
- Start the morning in the water with a surf lesson in Waikiki from Hans Hedemann Surf School, from $100
- Eat your way around the neighborhood on the Diamond Head lunchtime walking food tour, from $98
- Save a Waikiki sunset cruise with tasting menu, from $105, for an evening without a luau
Which luaus are near Ko Olina?
Two luaus are inside the Ko Olina resort area: Kaula Lū'au at Ocean's Edge and Ka Wa'a at Aulani. Three more are a short drive away in Kapolei: Chief's Luau, Germaine's Luau and Mauka Warriors Luau. Paradise Cove, the former Ko Olina luau, is closed.
Ko Olina is on the leeward coast, a long way from Waikiki. A west side luau saves the evening drive, and for day trips it pays to book tours that pick up at the resort:
- The Salute to Pearl Harbor tour from Ko Olina, Sundays and Wednesdays, from $74
- The Ultimate Circle Island Tour from Ko Olina, from $165
- A private Ko Olina wildlife snorkel charter for up to six guests, from $995 per boat
How far in advance can you book the Aulani luau?
Ka Wa'a reservations typically open four to six months before the event date, according to Disney's planDisney panel in April 2026. Advance reservations are required and can be made online or by phone at (844) 284-7644. The luau runs on select nights year-round.
If your dates are not on the calendar yet, check back. In April, Disney's panel told a guest that September nights had not been loaded.
Aulani sells two categories, Preferred Seating and General Seating. Doors open at 5:00pm for Preferred and 5:10pm for General, or 5:30pm and 5:40pm from June through August. Disney shows prices during booking, and we did not find a published seating chart, so confirm both when you reserve.
What is the difference between Toa Luau Silver, Gold and VIP?
All three Toa Luau packages include the same feast, Polynesian show, kava ceremony, flower lei and Waimea Valley admission. The differences are the seating area and the number of adult drink tickets.
| Package | Price from | Seating | Adult drink tickets |
|---|---|---|---|
| Silver | $145 | Silver area | 1 |
| Gold | $175 | Gold area | 2 |
| VIP | $205 | VIP area | 3 |
The food and the show are identical in every tier, so Silver is the value pick. Pay the extra $30 for Gold if a closer seat or a second drink matters to you.
Toa runs two seatings. The midday luau checks in at 12:20pm and ends at 3:30pm. The evening luau checks in at 4:50pm and ends at 8:00pm.
What should you do on the North Shore before a luau?
Both North Shore luaus reward an early start. Toa Luau recommends arriving at least two hours early to walk Waimea Valley to the falls, and the Ali'i Lū'au ticket opens the Polynesian Cultural Center villages from 12:15pm.
The North Shore gives you both directions in one stop. Waimea Valley runs mauka, toward the mountains, and the beach is makai, across the road toward the sea. Two ways to fill the morning nearby:
- A two-hour surf lesson in Haleiwa with Surf N Sea, from $90
- A private Waimea Falls and North Shore tour for groups who want a driver
How does an Oahu luau compare with a Maui luau?
Oahu has more luaus and lower entry prices. Maui has fewer shows and a higher top tier. Oahu's published adult prices run $119 to $265, while the Maui tickets on this site run $100 to $360.

Which Oahu luau should you book?
There is no single best luau on Oahu, only the right one for your night. 'A'ohe pau ka 'ike i ka hālau ho'okahi, the saying goes: all knowledge is not taught in one school. Each of these 14 tells a different part of the story.
- Staying in Waikiki without a car: Queen's Waikiki Luau, $139 with dinner
- Staying at Ko Olina: Kaula Lū'au or Ka Wa'a
- Young children: Toa Luau at 12:30pm
- A full cultural day: the Ali'i Lū'au Package at the Polynesian Cultural Center
- Smallest budget: a $119 show-only seat at Kaula Lū'au, Nā Lei Aloha or Waikiki Starlight Luau
Pick your area, check the night, then book. Mahalo for reading.

No. Hale Koa Hotel is a military resort, and its restaurants, shows and events are for eligible military patrons and their sponsored guests. It is not open to the general public, so it is not part of this comparison.

Nothing has replaced it on the same site. Paradise Cove closed on December 31, 2025. Kaula Lū'au opened at Ocean's Edge in Ko Olina on February 27, 2026, and is the newest luau in the resort area.
